Statement of Faith

Crown Community Church is an independent Church run by a group of local Christians.
We believe that The Bible is the Word of God and contains the whole Truth of God given by Him in order that we might come to know Him, Love Him, Serve Him and grow in our Christian walk with Him, pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

The Old Testament is an account of a Nation. The New Testament is the account of a Man. The Creator became a Man. His appearance is the central event of all history.  We believe in the account of Creation and that Adam and Eve were the first humans.  God created them pure and sinless but they wilfully and knowingly broke God’s law.  This resulted in the whole human race being under the curse of sin and separated from God.

Jesus died to take away our sins and restore us back into fellowship with Himself. He was crucified on a cross, buried in a tomb, was resurrected from the dead and He ascended into heaven where He now lives, thus having victory over sin and death. We believe He will return to earth a second time when He will make all things new.

While Jesus lived on earth, He performed supernatural miracles. He showed by His life that He was truly the Son of God.

Jesus said He is the one and only way to God and there is salvation in no other. We must be born again by the Holy Spirit and put our trust in Jesus alone in order to go to Heaven.  The Holy Spirit will then begin a new work in our lives so that we are changed from the inside.

We practise Water Baptism by full immersion as was preached by the Apostles in the New Testament thus following the example of Jesus.  The Bible teaches that we should believe and be Baptised as the first step in our Christian faith.

We believe in the Holy Spirit baptism. This is when we ask the Holy Spirit of God to fill our hearts and lives with His supernatural presence.  The evidence of the Holy Spirit baptism is the receiving of special gifts we did not have before as listed in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. He empowers us for a new life and gives us the ability to do what Jesus did here on earth.

We believe we should live holy lives that are pure and clean through obedience to the principles and teachings in the Bible so that we can live lives that please God.

We believe that everyone who has become a Christian should remember Him by regularly participating in communion.  We regularly pray for the sick because we believe God still works miracles today.

We believe in eternal life and judgement. Those who have committed their lives to following Jesus will spend eternity with Him in heaven.  However, those who have not will be punished for their sins eternally.

The most exalted privilege is to know Him. That’s what the Bible is all about.
